sparkly sequins

| Sequin Tunic: c/o Roe Blvd | Pants: H&M | Belt: Target |
| Loafers: JCPenney | Purse: Mexico |

There is nothing that I love more than sequins! When I saw this tunic I knew it would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I love that it is a comfy and neutral so it can match anything but that it has a fun, sequined elbow. I decided to pair it with these pretty sequined loafers that I scored on clearance at JCPenney for $13!!

sequins, polka dots, and blogging

| Polka Dot Tee: J Crew Factory | Pants: Forever 21 | Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target |
| Bow Flats: Marshalls | Pave Link Bracelet: c/o Urban Peach Boutique | Black Link Bracelet: Forever 21 |

Sequins. Polka dots. I honestly don't know which one I love more but when I saw this shirt I about died because it was so stinkin cute! I love J Crew Factory but some of their pieces are still expensive. However, I called and tracked down this shirt because not only was it on sale in store my friend Meghan sent me a gilt code which took an additional 40% off the total price. So overall I saved about $50, such a great deal! Oh and this 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target purse stealing all the attention in these pictures. Obsessed. Literally obsessed you guys. I love it!! I think it is a really good quality bag especially for the price. Plus you can fit so much into this purse, it would be a great bag for school or work. If for some reason you still haven't gotten one for yourself, you better get on it because these purses are hard to come by after all of the Limsanity.

Oh, and this is the first set of pictures not taken by my husband. My friend Lily took them for me and I took the pictures for her blog; they came out great right?! She was over at my house for a little blogger mingle party (read: gossip sesh, more on that later) that we threw and we thought it would be fun to take outfit pictures of each other. And it was so fun! I love that from blogging I have made some really great friends. Lily and I met through blogging a couple months ago and I already feel like I have made such a wonderful friend. We have started making some really fun plans together that I am really excited about! I have also made friends with other bloggers that live across the country who I talk to on Instagram and other forms of social media, and it is definitely one of the most positive things that has come from blogging!

I bought this gem of a shirt from my blogger friend Victoria and I could not take it off her hands soon enough! I wore this outfit to a little garden party my church was holding and not one, but two people commented on this shirt. Real life compliments are a big deal people. One of the girls that commented on it said, "That is a great shirt. Where do people find shirts like that?" It was so funny! Being a blogger and lover of all things fashion I follow quite a few fashion forward bloggers on Instagram and on their blogs. And lemme tell you, bloggers love sharing great deals and the best finds. I feel like an insider which gives me the opportunity to snatch up the cutest stuff first. So basically what I'm saying is that I'm a VIP of some sort. Be jealous.

p.s. don't forget to enter the giveaway to win a $200 gift card to White Plum Boutique here!!!

It might just be me, but while going through these pictures some of them seemed sexier (yes I said sexier, I can say that now that I'm married) than usual. Almost scandalous. Maybe it's the hot pink lipstick. Maybe it's the studded heels. Or maybe it's the tousled hair, which was totally unintentional and the result of taking a long afternoon. Whatever the reason is, I'm totally okay with it.

Starting a fashion blog was really scary, I'll be the first to admit that. I've wanted to do it for years but I never felt confident enough to take the plunge. Photographing every inch of my body and taking close-ups of my face with a DSLR. No thanks, not interested. However, a couple of months ago I started working out again and lost 10 pounds. That little victory gave my the extra boost of confidence that I needed to start my blog. So I did; and I was so nervous. I was inexperienced and had no idea what I was doing. But, after practicing and getting more comfortable in front of the camera, I feel like I've definitely improved. I'm not gonna go try out for America's Next Top Model anytime soon but I definitely feel good about the pictures I take.

Another reason I was scared to start a blog is because I was scared of people leaving negative comments and critiquing me and my outfits. Luckily, none of that happened. Not even close! In fact, I have never even had someone leave a rude comment on my blog. In fact, I want to thank all you for your kind words! You ladies are seriously the best. Every comment that I read makes me smile and seriously makes my day! I even show some of your comments to my husband and I'm like, "Matt, this girl is so nice!! Look what she wrote. Isn't she the sweetest?!" We as readers and bloggers need to stick together and spread positive thoughts and comments to others on the internet, because if we don't have nice comments to make then we probably shouldn't make any comments at all :)

fashion blogging is hard

// top. Koo De Ker // belt. Target // boyfriend watch. Target
// pants. Target (old) // shoes. Target

Seriously though. Taking ootd {fancy acroynm for outfit of the day} pictures is so much harder than it looks! Fashion bloggers make it look so easy, like, nbd just took a million great pictures. We probably took 100+ pictures and out of those I narrowed it down to about 20!

So this is my first official "outfit post" and I am so excited to share it with you all! A couple things before you judge these pictures too harshly. One, this is my first go at fashion blogging. Two, it was sprinkling rain and seriously super cold!! Like 40 degrees straight up. Three, this is my husband's first time taking pictures. He is a computer programmer, not a photographer. We need to practice with some other lenses so that the pictures are better quality. So there, I just convinced you to like these pictures. But, I'm excited for us to keep practicing and hopefully get better.

Also, once I thought about where all my clothes were from I realized that 90% of my outfit is from Target which is slightly embarrassing  I promise I shop other places too. But if I didn't so what? Everyone loves Target, especially your wallet!
