thoughts on being a mom

Hey guys! It's me Katelin, the ever so absent blogger. These last two weeks have been super crazy, but in a good way! Last week I flew home to visit my family in CA. A few months ago my sister asked me if I would babysit her kids while she went on an anniversary trip to Hawaii with her husband. I of course said yes...duh! I had a blast hanging out with my nieces and nephew, but it was really hard. My husband couldn't come because of school so I was doing everything by myself. It was really tough to have to take care of three kids without anyone else there to help with dinner, bedtime, and driving around the kids. On top of all the craziness, I got sick one of the days which made doing anything miserable. It was some sort of 24 hour flu bug and I was running to the bathroom a lot, it was definitely not fun. I called my Dad and luckily he was able to come out and take care of me and the kids. I'm not sure what I'll do when I get sick as a Mom and can't just call up my parents to come take care of me. It was a huge blessing to have them so close and I am blessed with the most wonderful parents!
Anyways, the moral of this entire story and trip is that Moms pretty much rule. Let me publicly give a huge kudos to all Moms, single Moms, and stay at home Moms! It is a really tough job. Caring for your children is a busy, selfless, and often thankless job and yet you all do it everyday! I cannot wait to be a Mom one day but for now, I want to just enjoy my time with Matt and the freedom that we have. I used to think that it was so cheesy when I would hear couples or women say that they were waiting to have kids because they wanted to spend more time with their spouse. I didn't really understand or comprehend that before I was married but now I totally get it!! And don't get me wrong, kids are amazing and I can't wait to have them one day but right now I want to be selfish and just hang out with my husband for a while longer. I want to see late movies, sleep in, and cuddle without interruption. Basically I want my husband all to myself!

ps this outfit has absolutely nothing to do with the content of this post ha!

  4. First of all love this outfit. Gorgeous and second of all yes being a mother is an extremely challenging job and it's 24/7 with no sick days. It sucks when I'm sick and I still have to look after my son. It was a very sweet thing of you to off your sister. I'm sure she really appreciates it!!!!!
